What's wrong, in plain English

Your Corvette's rear half-shafts are the parts that send power from the transmission to the rear wheels. On some cars, one or more ball bearings inside these parts may be missing. Without them, the half-shaft can stop doing its job, and the car can suddenly lose drive power while you are driving. You may still have steering and brakes, but the car will not pull. Dealers replace the affected left or right rear half-shaft at no cost.

What you should do

1. Enter your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to confirm your Corvette is included in recall 22V091000.
2. Call your Chevrolet dealer, or Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 (GM recall number N212351320), and book the inspection.
3. Have the rear half-shafts replaced as needed — the repair is free, whether or not you got the owner letter mailed April 4, 2022.

Summary: General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2021-2022 Chevrolet Corvette vehicles. The rear half-shaft assemblies may be missing one or more ball bearings, which can result in a loss of drive power.
Safety risk: An unexpected loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the left or right rear half-shaft assemblies, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed April 4, 2022. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is N212351320.
