Chevrolet Traverse and Buick Enclave roof airbags may not deploy

NHTSA campaign 22V210000 · Reported 2022-03-31 · General Motors, LLC

high How serious is it? About this label

Serious, because the airbags meant to protect your head in a side crash may not work at all, but the notice does not tell owners to stop driving the vehicle.

What's wrong, in plain English

The wiring plug that connects to the airbags built into the roof above the side windows may have the wrong type of metal connectors inside. Because the parts don't match properly, the connection may not work, and the side curtain airbags on the left or right may not inflate during a crash. Owners of certain 2020-2022 Chevrolet Traverse and 2021-2022 Buick Enclave models are affected. A dealer will replace the connector.

What you should do

1. Enter your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to confirm your vehicle is included. 2. Call your Buick dealer (1-800-521-7300) or Chevrolet dealer (1-800-222-1020) and schedule the repair, mentioning GM recall N212352140. 3. Have the dealer replace the airbag harness connector, which is free of charge.
