This is a real injury risk for anyone riding in the second row during a crash, and the notice does not tell owners to stop driving, but avoid seating passengers in a seat that will not lock.

What's wrong, in plain English

On some 2023 Infiniti QX60 vehicles, the sliding second-row seat can move back farther than it was designed to go. When that happens, the seat can be hard to move, get stuck, or fail to click into a locked position. A seat that is not locked in place can move during a crash, so it may not hold the person sitting there as it should and they could be hurt. A dealer will take out the second-row seat and put in a new one.

1. Look up your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to confirm your vehicle is included. 2. Contact your Infiniti dealer or Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669, recall PC953. 3. Have the second-row seat replaced free of charge.

Summary: Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2023 Infiniti QX60 vehicles. The second-row adjustable seat may extend past the intended rear stopper point and may be difficult to move, become stuck, or fail to lock in the correct position.
Safety risk: A seat that becomes stuck or fails to lock in a secured position may not properly restrain the occupant during a crash, increasing their risk of injury.
Remedy: Dealers will remove and replace the second-row seat, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed April 14, 2023. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Nissan's number for this recall is PC953.
