Dodge Durango rear spoiler can come loose

NHTSA campaign 23V115000 · Reported 2023-02-23 · Chrysler (FCA US, LLC)

medium How serious is it? About this label

Not an immediate danger to you inside the car and the notice does not tell you to stop driving, but a spoiler that falls off can cause a crash for drivers behind you, so get it looked at soon.

What's wrong, in plain English

The spoiler across the back roof of your Durango may not have been lined up correctly with the roof. Each time the rear hatch is opened and closed, that misalignment can damage the spoiler. A damaged spoiler can eventually break free and fall off while you are driving, landing in the road behind you where another driver could hit it. A dealer will inspect the spoiler and put on a new one if needed.
