Ford F-650 parking brake may release without warning
high How serious is it? About this label
A heavy truck rolling away with nobody at the wheel can cause a serious crash or injury; the notice does not tell owners to stop driving, but treat this as urgent.
What's wrong, in plain English
Some 2023 and 2024 Ford F-650 and F-750 trucks have a faulty parking brake. Normally you must press a button on the lever before the brake will let go. On these trucks the lever can release without that button being pressed, which means the parking brake can come off on its own. If that happens while the truck is parked, it can roll away and strike whatever or whoever is in its path.
