Dodge Hornet sticker lists wrong maximum load weight

NHTSA campaign 24V175000 · Reported 2024-03-05 · Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) (Stellantis)

low How serious is it? About this label

A vehicle with an incorrect maximum capacity weight value may be overloaded, which can increase the risk of a crash. The notice does not tell owners to stop driving.

What's wrong, in plain English

Certain 2023-2024 Dodge Hornet and Alfa Romeo Tonale vehicles have the wrong number printed on the tire information sticker, the label in the driver's door opening that tells you how much weight the vehicle can carry. Because the number is wrong, an owner could load in more people and cargo than the vehicle is built to handle. An overloaded vehicle handles and stops poorly. A dealer puts a corrected label over the old one.

What you should do

1. Check your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to see if your vehicle is on the list.
2. Contact your dealer, or FCA US customer service at 1-800-853-1403, and reference recall 28B.
3. Have the corrected overlay label applied — free of charge.
