Nissan Sentra Front Driveshaft Can Slip, Causing Power Loss

NHTSA campaign 24V304000 · Reported 2024-04-29 · Nissan North America, Inc.

high How serious is it? About this label

Losing drive power without warning can cause a crash, so get it inspected as soon as you can; the notice does not tell owners to stop driving.

What's wrong, in plain English

The front left driveshaft — the bar that sends power from the transmission to the wheel — may not be pushed in all the way, or the clip that holds it may be loose or missing. If it works free, transmission fluid can leak out and the car can stop driving. Dealers will check the driveshaft and, if needed, replace it along with the transmission at no cost to you.
