Nissan Sentra driveshaft may slip, causing rollaway risk
high How serious is it? About this label
Serious, since you could lose power while driving or have the car roll away when parked, so always set the parking brake and get the free inspection done soon, though the notice does not say to stop driving.
What's wrong, in plain English
The left front driveshaft, the rod that sends engine power to the front wheel, may not be pushed all the way into the transmission. It can work its way loose, leak transmission fluid, and leave the car without power to the wheels. Because the shaft is not fully locked in, the car may also roll away on its own when parked if you have not set the parking brake. Dealers will inspect and replace parts if needed.
What you should do
2. Contact your Nissan dealer for an inspection appointment, or call Nissan at 1-800-867-7669.
3. Until it is fixed, always use the parking brake; the inspection and any driveshaft or transmission work is free.

- Summary
- Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2025 Nissan Sentra vehicles. The front left-side driveshaft may not be fully seated in the continuously variable transmission (CVT) assembly, which can cause a transmission fluid leak and loss of drive power.

- An unexpected loss of drive power can increase the risk of a crash. In addition, a driveshaft that is not fully engaged can result in a vehicle rollaway if the parking brake is not applied, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.
