Rivian R1T and R1S missing dashboard airbag warning label

NHTSA campaign 24V319000 · Reported 2024-05-09 · Rivian Automotive, LLC

low How serious is it? About this label

Nothing is mechanically wrong with the vehicle, but a missing warning could lead someone to seat a child in front and be injured by the airbag; the notice does not tell owners to stop driving.

What's wrong, in plain English

The warning label that belongs on the dashboard may be missing from these trucks and SUVs. That label tells you an airbag can seriously hurt a baby or child riding in the front seat. Without it, a driver may not realize the danger of putting a child up front. Because the label is missing, the vehicle does not meet the federal rule on crash protection. Rivian has mailed owners the warning label information at no charge.

What you should do

1. Check your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to confirm your vehicle is affected. 2. Watch for the label mailing, or contact Rivian customer service at 1-888-748-4264 (recall FSAM-1429) if you did not get it. 3. Apply the label; there is no charge.
