Kia EV9: second and third row seat bolts missing

NHTSA campaign 24V962000 · Reported 2024-12-20 · Kia America, Inc.

high How serious is it? About this label

Serious for anyone riding in the back seats during a crash; the notice does not say to stop driving, but avoid carrying passengers in the rear rows until it is checked.

What's wrong, in plain English

The bolts that hold the second-row and third-row seats down to the floor may be missing on some of these vehicles. Without those bolts a seat may not stay put and may not hold a person in place during a crash or a hard stop, and anyone sitting back there could be hurt. The dealer will look at the seat mounts and install any bolts that are missing, at no cost to you.

What you should do

1. Check your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
2. Call your Kia dealer or Kia customer service at 1-800-333-4542 (recall SC329) to book the inspection.
3. Have the missing bolts installed — the work is free.
