What's wrong, in plain English
On four-wheel-drive Tacomas, mud and dirt can pack up inside the rear wheels and rub against the rear brake hoses. Over time that damages the hoses and brake fluid can leak out. Losing brake fluid means the brakes do not work as well as they should, so the truck may take longer to stop. Dealers will replace both rear brake hoses free of charge.

1. Check your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to see if your Tacoma is included. 2. Call your Toyota dealer or Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331 and reference recall 25TB04 or 25TA04. 3. Have both rear brake hoses replaced, free of charge.

- Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Tacoma 4-wheel drive vehicles. The rear brake hoses can be damaged if mud and dirt builds up inside the rear wheels. This can result in a brake fluid leak.

- A brake fluid leak can reduce braking ability and increase the risk of a crash.
- Remedy
- Dealers will replace both rear brake hoses, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed August 1, 2025. Owners may contact Toyota's customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's numbers for this recall are 25TB04 and 25TA04.
