Genesis G80, GV80 and GV70 driver display can fail

NHTSA campaign 25V105000 · Reported 2025-02-20 · Hyundai Motor America

medium How serious is it? About this label

Driving without a speedometer or warning lights raises the chance of a crash, but the notice does not tell owners to stop driving, so schedule the free software update soon.

What's wrong, in plain English

A software error can make the display right in front of the driver stop working. That is the screen showing your speed, along with the warning lights for things like the brakes, the engine and the airbags. If it goes blank, you cannot see how fast you are going or whether the car is trying to warn you about a problem. These vehicles do not meet federal rules for displays. Dealers inspect and update the software free.

What you should do

1. Enter your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to confirm your vehicle is covered.
2. Call your Genesis dealer, or Genesis customer service at 844-340-9741, and mention recall 026G.
3. Have the dealer inspect and update the display software — there is no charge.
