13 recalls covering model years 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025. To check whether your vehicle is affected, look up your 17-character VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls — a recall may apply only to some vehicles of a given year.
Fuel can leak where the fuel pipe connects to the fuel rail, the part that feeds gasoline to the engine. A loose or faulty connection can let gasoline escape in the engine bay, where it can reach hot parts. You might smell gas or see drips under the front of the car. A dealer will check the connection and tighten it, or replace the pipe if needed, at no cost.
A software problem can make the instrument panel display, the screen in front of you that shows your speed and fuel level, go blank. Without it you cannot see how fast you are going or how much fuel is left. Genesis says to turn off the HD radio feature until the fix is done. The repair is a free software update, sent to the car over the air or loaded by a dealer.
A software error can make the display right in front of the driver stop working. That is the screen showing your speed, along with the warning lights for things like the brakes, the engine and the airbags. If it goes blank, you cannot see how fast you are going or whether the car is trying to warn you about a problem. These vehicles do not meet federal rules for displays. Dealers inspect and update the software free.
The fuel pump is the part that sends gasoline from the tank to the engine. On these vehicles it can fail. If it does, the engine stops getting fuel and the vehicle loses power to drive — it can slow down or stop moving while you are out on the road. Your dealer will inspect the fuel pump and replace the assembly at no charge. This recall is an expansion of an earlier one, so some vehicles are being covered for the first time.
Cars with the 3.3-liter turbocharged V6 have a small pipe that feeds oil to the left turbocharger. That pipe can break down over time and leak. Oil dripping onto hot engine parts can catch fire under the hood. Dealers will replace the pipe free of charge. This recall replaces an earlier one (19V-538), so even if your car was repaired under that recall, it still needs the new repair.
Water can get into the starter solenoid — a small electrical part that helps start the engine. Water there can cause a short circuit, which can start a fire under the hood. It can happen while you are driving or while the car is parked with the engine off. Hyundai says park outside and away from buildings, garages and carports until the repair is done. Dealers add a relay kit in the engine's fuse box at no cost.

The fuel pump on these Genesis models can fail. A Genesis dealer will replace the fuel pump for free. Hyundai mailed owner letters in November 2023, so parts and the repair are available now. Call the dealer even if you never got a letter.
Front seat belts have a small device that tightens the belt the instant a crash happens. In these vehicles that device can burst apart when it goes off, throwing metal pieces into the cabin that could hit and injure the driver or front passenger. The dealer will fit a cap over the part to hold it together, free of charge. GV60 owners got a warning letter first and will get a second letter when their repair is ready. Cars fixed under the earlier 2021 recall need this repair too.
On these cars with the 2.5-liter turbo engine, the metal tube that carries gasoline from the pump to the engine may not seal tightly where it connects. Fuel can seep out of that joint. If the leaking gas reaches a spark or hot surface, it can catch fire. The dealer fix is a new high-pressure fuel tube, and it costs you nothing. Hyundai mailed letters to owners of affected Genesis vehicles in May 2021.
These cars have a control box under the hood that runs the anti-lock brakes, the system that keeps the wheels from locking up when you stop hard. Inside that box, the electricity can take a wrong path and short out. If it does, the parts can get hot enough to start a fire in the engine compartment. This can happen while you are driving or while the car is parked and shut off. The dealer replaces a fuse on the unit.

Certain 2018 Genesis G80 and 2017-2018 G90 sedans with the 3.3-liter turbocharged engine may have a loose seal on the pipe that carries oil to the turbocharger. Oil can seep out of that seal and drip onto the exhaust manifold, the very hot metal piece that carries exhaust gases away from the engine. Oil landing on metal that hot can catch fire. Hyundai dealers will replace the turbocharger oil supply pipe for you at no cost.
Your Genesis has a sensor system in the front passenger seat that decides whether the passenger airbag should turn on or off. On these cars, it can wrongly read the seat as holding an adult even when the seat is empty. If a child or infant is riding there, the airbag may fire in a crash instead of staying switched off. A dealer can reprogram the system, free of charge.
The front windshield and the rear window were glued in using the wrong primer, so the glue may not hold as strongly as it should. Over time that weaker bond can give way, and the windshield or rear window could come loose and detach while you are driving. Dealers will replace both the front and rear glass at no cost.
Complaints owners have filed with NHTSA about the Genesis G80. These are unverified reports; better-selling years collect more.
