Ford F-150, Expedition and Navigator brake fluid leak

NHTSA campaign 25V236000 · Reported 2025-04-11 · Ford Motor Company

high How serious is it? About this label

Weaker brakes and longer stopping distances are a real crash risk; the notice does not say to stop driving, but this is a braking problem, so book the free repair right away.

What's wrong, in plain English

The part that pushes brake fluid to your wheels when you press the pedal can leak. Fluid escapes from the front-wheel circuit into the power-assist unit behind it. With less fluid doing its job, the brakes do not work as well and your vehicle needs a longer distance to stop. Ford dealers will replace that part, and the power-assist unit as well if it is already leaking. The work is free, and letters went to owners in September 2025.

What you should do

1. Check your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to see if your truck or SUV is on the list.
2. Contact a Ford or Lincoln dealer, or Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332, and mention recall 25S37.
3. Get the brake part replaced at no charge, even if the brakes feel normal to you.
