Polestar 3 backup camera image may not appear

NHTSA campaign 25V293000 · Reported 2025-05-07 · Polestar Automotive USA, Inc.

medium How serious is it? About this label

This raises the chance of backing into someone or something, but the vehicle is otherwise drivable and the notice does not ask owners to stop driving.

What's wrong, in plain English

On certain Polestar 3 vehicles, the backup camera picture may fail to show on the dashboard screen when you shift into reverse. Instead of seeing what is behind the vehicle, you may get no image at all. Without that view, it is harder to notice a child, a pet, or an object behind you while backing up. Federal safety rules require the camera image to display, so these vehicles do not meet that rule.

What you should do

1. Check your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to see if your car is affected. 2. Contact your Polestar dealer or Polestar customer service at 1-800-806-2504 about recall RP1057. 3. Get the free software update, either at the dealer or as an over-the-air update to your car.
