The car drives normally and the notice does not tell owners to stop driving, but in a crash a loose seatback offers much less protection against cargo entering the cabin.

What's wrong, in plain English

On certain 2025 Polestar 3 vehicles, the metal catches that lock the rear seat backrest in its upright position may not be tightened down properly. If they are loose, the back of the rear seat can fall forward. That matters most in a crash: with the seatback down, luggage and other items in the cargo area can come flying into the passenger space and injure the people sitting there. A dealer will tighten the mounting nuts.

What you should do

1. From January 30, 2026, check your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to confirm your Polestar 3 is included.
2. Contact a Polestar service center and schedule the free inspection and tightening under recall RP1079; letters were mailed March 4, 2026.
3. Until then, avoid carrying heavy or loose cargo behind the rear seat. Polestar customer service: 1-800-806-2504.

Summary: Polestar Automotive USA, Inc. (Polestar) is recalling certain 2025 Polestar 3 vehicles. The striker brackets that secure the rear seat backrest may be loose. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 207, "Seating Systems."
Safety risk: A loose rear seat backrest may fall forward and allow cargo to enter the cabin during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect and tighten the rear seat backrest striker bracket mounting nuts as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 4, 2026. Owners may contact Polestar's customer service at 1-800-806-2504. Polestar's number for this recall is RP1079. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will become searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning January 30, 2026.
