Ford Bronco rearview camera image stays on after backing

NHTSA campaign 25V312000 · Reported 2025-05-09 · Ford Motor Company

medium How serious is it? About this label

A lingering camera image can distract you while driving and lead to a crash; the notice does not tell owners to stop driving.

What's wrong, in plain English

These Broncos with the 8-inch touchscreen were fixed incorrectly under an earlier recall. Because of that, the backup camera picture may stay on the screen even after you have shifted out of reverse and started driving forward. A picture that will not go away can pull your eyes off the road. The vehicle does not meet the federal rear visibility rule. A dealer will load updated software into the infotainment system to correct it.

What you should do

1. Look up your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to confirm your Bronco is included. 2. Contact your Ford dealer, or Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 (recall 25C14), for an appointment. 3. Have the software update done free of charge.
