Losing braking power is a serious crash risk; the notice does not tell you to stop driving, but get this inspected quickly and see a dealer right away if the pedal feels soft or a brake warning light comes on.

What's wrong, in plain English

The brake lines at the front of the vehicle can rub against the air cleaner outlet pipe, part of the engine's air intake. Over time the rubbing can wear through the line and let brake fluid leak out. With fluid leaking, the brakes do not work as well as they should, and weak brakes make a crash more likely. Dealers will inspect the front brake line and replace the line or the air intake pipe if needed, free of charge.

1. Look up your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to confirm your vehicle is affected. 2. Call your Ford or Lincoln dealer, or Ford at 1-866-436-7332 (recall 25S47), and ask for the brake line inspection. 3. Have any needed parts replaced at no charge.

Summary
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2022-2024 Navigator and Expedition vehicles. The front brake lines may contact the engine air cleaner outlet pipe and become damaged, possibly resulting in a brake fluid leak and reduced brake function.
Safety risk
A loss of brake function increases the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect the front brake line and replace the brake line or air cleaner outlet pipe, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 29, 2025. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25S47.
