Serious, since the parking brake can come on unexpectedly while you drive or fail to hold the parked vehicle; the notice does not order owners to park it, but get the inspection done soon and use the parking gear on hills.

What's wrong, in plain English

On some 2024-2025 Chevrolet Blazer EVs, the wiring that runs to the rear parking brake can get rubbed through or corroded. Damaged wiring can make the parking brake grab on its own while you are driving, or it can leave the parking brake unable to hold at all, so the vehicle could roll away after you park it. Dealers will check the wiring, reroute it and add protective tape, and replace it if it is already damaged, free of charge.

Component: PARKING BRAKE
Summary: General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Chevrolet Blazer EV vehicles. The rear parking brake wiring harness may become damaged or corroded, resulting in unintended activation of the parking brake or loss of the parking brake function.
Safety risk: Unintended activation of the parking brake while driving increases the risk of a crash. Loss of the parking brake function while parked can result in a rollaway, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect the harness and, if necessary, reroute the harness and install anti-abrasive tape. Any harness that has existing damage will be replaced. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on October 1, 2025. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is N252503010.
