The metal catches that your doors latch onto — one on each of the four side doors — were not heat-treated correctly at the factory, so they can break. If one breaks, that door can pop open on its own, including while the vehicle is moving. Someone could fall out or be hit by the swinging door. The lower control arm is a metal arm that connects the front wheel to the body of the vehicle and keeps it pointed where you steer. On some 2024 Blazer EVs, the arm on the right front was made incorrectly and can crack and break apart. If that happens while you are driving, you can lose control of the vehicle. The dealer will inspect the part and install a new one if it is faulty.
The wires inside the electric motor that drives the rear wheels may not be properly insulated. If two of them touch, the motor can lose power, and the vehicle can stop pulling while you are driving. Because these are electric vehicles, that means no power to the wheels at all. General Motors is fixing it by replacing the entire rear drive unit, the motor package at the back of the vehicle, free of charge at your dealer.
On certain 2024 Chevrolet Blazer, Blazer EV, Equinox and GMC Terrain vehicles, the door strikers can crack and break. A striker is the metal loop on the door frame that the door latch grabs to hold the door shut. If one breaks, that door can swing open on its own — including while you are driving down the road. Dealers will replace all four door strikers and their bolts for free.
