This is the most serious kind of defect — brakes that can fail suddenly with no warning while you are driving — and although the notice does not order owners to park the vehicle, you should treat the repair as urgent and stop driving if the pedal ever goes hard.

What's wrong, in plain English

Your 2025 Navigator or Expedition uses an electronic unit to create the power assist that makes the brake pedal easy to press. It can quit while you drive, or while a driver-assistance feature is controlling the vehicle. Then the pedal gets hard, stopping takes much more distance, and the assist features may not brake as you expect. The failure comes without warning. Some 2025 F-150, Bronco and Ranger vehicles are also recalled. Dealers replace the booster free.

What you should do

1. Enter your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to confirm your vehicle is included. 2. Call a Ford or Lincoln dealer, or Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 (recall 25SD4), and ask for the earliest appointment to have the electronic brake booster replaced free of charge. 3. Until it is done, leave extra following distance and do not rely on driver-assistance braking features.

Component: SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:POWER ASSIST:ELECTRIC:CONTROL MODULE
Summary: Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2025 Lincoln Navigator, F-150, Expedition, Bronco, and Ranger vehicles. The Electronic Brake Booster (EBB) module may malfunction while driving or when the driver is utilizing an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) feature, resulting in a loss of power brake assist.
Safety risk: An unexpected loss of power brake assist while driving can extend stopping distance and increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, a loss of power brake assist while ADAS features are engaged can result in the vehicle not braking as expected, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the electronic brake booster, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 26, 2026. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25SD4. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on December 3, 2025.
