Reported 2020-06-30 · Campaign 20V378000 · Model years: 2018
A flexible steel cable anchors each front seat belt to the seat. Over years of use that cable can weaken and fail. If it does, the belt will not hold you in place in a crash, even though it may look and feel normal when you buckle up. Anyone in a front seat is at greater risk of injury. Volvo dealers replace the anchor cable on both front seats at no charge.

These cars have a connected-services module that automatically sends your location to emergency responders if you are in a crash. A software error can keep the car's connected features and driver-assist systems from working properly, which means your GPS location may never reach the people coming to help. The car itself drives, brakes and steers normally. A dealer loads corrected software at no cost, and that is the whole repair for this recall.
