Even if your car was repaired under an earlier recall, it still needs this new fix.
A bolt in the steering column may not have been tightened properly at the factory. The steering column is the shaft that connects your steering wheel to the parts that turn the front wheels. If that bolt is loose, the column can separate from the steering rack, and turning the wheel would no longer turn the car. Dealers will check the bolt and tighten it if needed, free of charge.

The brake master cylinder is the part that pushes brake fluid to the brakes when you press the pedal. On these cars it may have been made with sharp edges inside that can damage the rubber seal. A damaged seal lets pressure escape, so the brake pedal may travel farther toward the floor than normal and the car may need a longer distance to come to a stop than it should.
The latch on the trunk lid can become damaged. If that happens, the release handle inside the trunk will not open it, so anyone who ends up shut in the trunk — most often a child playing — cannot get out on their own. Federal rules require trunks to open from the inside, and these cars no longer meet that rule. Nothing about the way the car drives is affected. A dealer will replace the latch base at no cost.
