Honda Insight, Odyssey, Ridgeline airbags may not deploy in crash
high How serious is it? About this label
This is serious because your airbags and seat belts may not protect you in a crash; the notice does not tell owners to stop driving, but get it fixed as soon as you can.
What's wrong, in plain English
The computer that controls the airbags and seat belt tighteners in these Honda Insight, Odyssey, and Ridgeline vehicles may have been built wrong. Because of that mistake, the airbags might not inflate in a crash, and the seat belts might not pull tight the way they should to hold you in your seat. You would have no warning ahead of time, and everything looks normal until a crash actually happens. People in the vehicle could be hurt more badly.
What you should do
2. Call your Honda dealer, or Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138, and schedule the repair promptly.
3. The dealer will replace the airbag control unit at no cost to you.
