What's wrong, in plain English

Some 2019-2020 Audi A6 models with the mild-hybrid system and the 2.0-liter turbo engine have a starter generator — the part that starts the engine and helps power the car — that can let moisture get inside. If water reaches the electrical parts, they can short out. A short circuit there can overheat and start a fire. Volkswagen's fix is to replace the whole starter generator with a new one, and you pay nothing for the part or the labor.

2. Call your Audi dealer, or Volkswagen customer service at 1-800-893-5298, and mention recall number 27H2.
3. Have the starter generator replaced — the repair is free.
