Ram 2500 and 3500 accessory bed step can break
low How serious is it? About this label
A bed step that unexpectedly fails while in use increases the risk of injury to the user. The notice does not tell owners to stop driving.
What's wrong, in plain English
Some Ram 2500 and 3500 pickups were built with an add-on step under the bed that helps you climb up. If you put weight on it from the side, the step can break without warning. Someone standing on it could fall and get hurt. This does not affect how the truck drives, steers, or stops. Dealers will replace the support brace that holds the step, free of charge.
