Chevy and GMC trucks have mismatched spare tire
medium How serious is it? About this label
An ABS system that does not function properly can increase the risk of a crash. The notice does not tell owners to stop driving.
What's wrong, in plain English
These Sierra 1500 and Silverado 1500 trucks were sold with add-on accessory wheels and tires, but the 17-inch spare tire that came with the truck does not match those accessory wheels. If you put that spare on, the difference can keep the anti-lock brakes from working the way they should in some situations, which affects how the truck stops and steers in a hard or slippery braking situation.
