Rollx Wheelchair Vans: Restraints May Not Lock Wheelchair
high How serious is it? About this label
This is serious for anyone riding in a wheelchair because the chair may not stay put, and while the notice does not tell you to park the van, you should treat the wheelchair position as unsafe until the restraints are checked.
What's wrong, in plain English
These are vans converted by Rollx for wheelchair use. The straps that hold a wheelchair use retractors, which work like a seat belt: they pull in slack and then lock so the chair cannot roll. On these vans, the QRT-Deluxe and QRT-Max retractors may fail to lock. If they do not lock, the wheelchair and the person in it can shift or slide while the van is moving, which raises the risk of injury. Rollx and the restraint maker will check the retractors and replace them if needed.
What you should do
2. Call Rollx Vans customer service at 1-800-956-6668 to schedule the inspection.
3. Have the retractors inspected and replaced as necessary — the work is free.
