Lincoln Navigator Marker and Daytime Lights Can Fail

NHTSA campaign 22V455000 · Reported 2022-06-24 · Ford Motor Company

medium How serious is it? About this label

Losing these lights makes you harder for others to see and raises crash risk, but the notice does not tell owners to stop driving, so you can keep driving while you arrange the free update.

What's wrong, in plain English

A software problem in the unit that controls the Navigator's headlights can make the side marker lights and the daytime running lights stop working. Those lights help other drivers see your vehicle and see how wide it is, especially in dim conditions. If they go out, other people may not spot you in time, which makes a crash more likely. The dealer reloads corrected software and recalibrates the headlights at no charge; owner letters went out in July 2022.

What you should do

1. Check your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to see if your Navigator is covered. 2. Contact your Lincoln dealer or Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 and reference recall 22C14. 3. Have the software updated and the headlights recalibrated — free of charge.
