Driving without a speedometer or warning lights raises your chance of a crash, and while the notice does not tell you to stop driving, you should not ignore a blank display.

What's wrong, in plain English

When you start the vehicle, the main display behind the steering wheel — the one showing your speed and warning lights — may come up completely blank. These vehicles had an earlier recall repair for this, but it was not done correctly, so the problem can still happen. With a blank display you cannot see how fast you are going or whether any safety warning lights have come on. A dealer will reload the correct software into that display unit at no cost.

1. Check your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to see if your Mustang, Nautilus, or Navigator falls under campaign 26V372000 (Ford's number 26C27).
2. Contact your Ford or Lincoln dealer, or customer service at 1-866-436-7332, to book the software update.
3. Get the instrument cluster reprogrammed — it is free of charge.

Component: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL
Summary: Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2019 Ford Mustang, Lincoln Nautilus, and Lincoln Navigator vehicles previously repaired incorrectly under recall number 19V076. At vehicle start-up, the Instrument Panel Cluster Assembly (IPC) may not function, showing a blank display. As a result, these vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 101, "Controls and Displays."
Safety risk: A blank instrument cluster that fails to display critical safety information, such as vehicle speed or safety system warnings, increases the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will reprogram the Instrument Panel Cluster Assembly (IPC) software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 13, 2026. Owners may contact customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 26C27. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will become searchable on NHTSA.gov on July 6, 2026.
