41 recalls covering model years 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025. To check whether your vehicle is affected, look up your 17-character VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls — a recall may apply only to some vehicles of a given year.
The part inside the automatic transmission that locks the wheels when you shift into Park can catch while the vehicle is still moving. That can damage the parking system, so the vehicle may not stay put after you park it and could roll on its own. Ford will update the transmission computer software and inspect and replace any damaged parts. The fix is not ready yet; Ford expects it around April 2027 and will mail a second letter then.

When you start the vehicle, the main display behind the steering wheel — the one showing your speed and warning lights — may come up completely blank. These vehicles had an earlier recall repair for this, but it was not done correctly, so the problem can still happen. With a blank display you cannot see how fast you are going or whether any safety warning lights have come on. A dealer will reload the correct software into that display unit at no cost.
The seat belt for the driver's seat, the front passenger seat, or both can lock up on its own. When that happens, the belt will not pull out and will not pull back in, so it cannot be worn properly across the person in the seat. A belt stuck like that may not hold someone in place in a crash. Dealers will inspect the belt retractors and replace any bad ones, free of charge.
The metal arms that hold the windshield wipers can break. If an arm breaks, that wiper stops sweeping the glass. In heavy rain or snow you could suddenly be left with little or no clear view through the windshield while you are driving. A dealer will inspect the wiper arms and replace them if needed, free of charge. Ford mailed owner letters in August 2026, and you can look up your VIN online now.
A computer module that handles the camera images can restart itself over and over without warning. When it does, you lose the backup camera picture on your screen, along with driver-assist features: the pre-collision system, lane-keeping help, and blind-spot monitoring. Those features may not be working when you expect them, which makes it harder to spot a hazard around you. The fix is a free software update, done either at the dealer or sent to the vehicle over the air.
These Ford and Lincoln trucks and SUVs have a built-in trailer brake controller. On the affected vehicles, that controller can stop communicating with the rest of the vehicle while you are towing. When that happens, the trailer's brake lights and turn signals can go dark, and the trailer's brakes may stop working. That makes the trailer harder to control and makes it harder for drivers behind you to see when you are braking or turning. A free software update fixes it.

The long light bar across the back of these 2025 Navigators can crack, either in the outer lens or along a weld. Water then gets inside and collects, and the backup lights can flicker or quit working. That means people behind you may not realize you are backing up, which matters most in parking lots and driveways where someone could be walking past. Dealers replace the whole rear light bar at no cost to you.

Your 2025 Navigator or Expedition uses an electronic unit to create the power assist that makes the brake pedal easy to press. It can quit while you drive, or while a driver-assistance feature is controlling the vehicle. Then the pedal gets hard, stopping takes much more distance, and the assist features may not brake as you expect. The failure comes without warning. Some 2025 F-150, Bronco and Ranger vehicles are also recalled. Dealers replace the booster free.

The clips that hold the wind deflector to the moonroof frame may not be attached well enough. The deflector is the small screen at the front edge of the moonroof opening that cuts down wind noise. If the clips let go, the deflector can come off the vehicle and land on the road, where it becomes a hazard for you and for drivers behind you. Dealers will inspect it and repair or reattach it as needed, free of charge.

An electrical short inside the fuse box that connects to the battery can start an engine fire. It can happen while you are driving or while the SUV is parked. Ford says to park outside, away from buildings and other vehicles, until the work is done. The dealer will inspect that fuse box and replace it if needed, remove a ground wire, and on some vehicles fit an extra electrical box with a jumper wire. Everything is free.

The part that helps your brakes work with light pedal pressure can stop working while you are driving, or while you are using driver-assist features that brake for you. If that happens, the brake pedal gets much harder to push and the vehicle takes longer to stop. The car may also fail to slow down on its own when a driver-assist feature expects it to. A free software update fixes it, either sent to the vehicle or done at a dealer.

On these Ford and Lincoln trucks, SUVs and Mustangs, the low-pressure fuel pump, which is the part that moves gasoline out of the tank, can fail. If it does, the engine can stall and shut off while you are driving. The repair depends on what you own: on Super Duty pickups the dealer replaces the fuel pump itself, and on all the other vehicles the dealer reprograms the engine computer. Either repair is free. Owner letters were mailed July 27, 2026.

The airbag in front of the passenger seat may have been built incorrectly at the factory. Instead of cushioning the person in a crash, it can inflate with too much force. That extra force can injure whoever is sitting in that seat during a crash. Dealers will remove the passenger side airbag and install a new one at no charge. A software error affects the backup camera. The screen may show a blank image when you shift into reverse, so you cannot see what is behind the vehicle. Or the camera picture may stay on the screen after you have shifted out of reverse, which can distract you while driving forward. Either situation raises the risk of a crash. Your Navigator's headlights are run by a small computer, and its software has a fault. Because of it, the side marker lights and the daytime running lights can stop working. These are the lights that help other drivers see your vehicle, so the SUV does not meet the federal rules for lighting. This affects vehicles that already had an earlier lighting recall repair, so a previous fix does not mean you are covered. The dealer reloads corrected software.
The seat belt for the driver, the front passenger, or both can lock up on its own. When that happens the belt will not pull out or pull back in, so you may not be able to buckle up properly or sit comfortably. A belt stuck like that cannot hold a person the way it is supposed to in a crash. Dealers will replace the seat belt retractor free of charge. Some vehicles already checked under an earlier recall still need this new repair.

These vehicles came in for an earlier recall, but that repair was done incorrectly. Because of a software mistake, the crash-avoidance features are not working: your vehicle will not warn you about a vehicle stopped ahead, and it will not brake on its own to help avoid or soften a collision. Your regular brakes and the rest of the vehicle still work normally, but that automatic safety net is missing. The dealer will reload the correct software.
A software error in the module that runs the screen can make the backup camera image lag, freeze, or not appear at all when you put the vehicle in reverse. You could back into something or someone you cannot see. The fix is a software update to that module, done free at a dealer or, on some vehicles, sent to the vehicle over the air. Ford is doing this in phases, so timing depends on your model and year.
The brake lines at the front of the vehicle can rub against the air cleaner outlet pipe, part of the engine's air intake. Over time the rubbing can wear through the line and let brake fluid leak out. With fluid leaking, the brakes do not work as well as they should, and weak brakes make a crash more likely. Dealers will inspect the front brake line and replace the line or the air intake pipe if needed, free of charge.

The part that pushes brake fluid to your wheels when you press the pedal can leak. Fluid escapes from the front-wheel circuit into the power-assist unit behind it. With less fluid doing its job, the brakes do not work as well and your vehicle needs a longer distance to stop. Ford dealers will replace that part, and the power-assist unit as well if it is already leaking. The work is free, and letters went to owners in September 2025.

These Ford F-150 and Expedition and Lincoln Navigator vehicles with the 3.5-liter GTDI engine may have a small plug in the engine that was not lined up correctly at the factory. If that plug shifts, engine oil can pour out fast. Losing oil quickly can make the engine shut off while you are driving, so you lose power in traffic. Oil spraying onto hot engine or exhaust parts can also start a fire.

Certain Ford F-150, Maverick, Expedition, F-250, F-350, F-450 and F-550 trucks and Lincoln Navigator SUVs were fixed incorrectly under an earlier recall, so the problem remains. Because of a software error, the built-in trailer brake controller may fail to apply the brakes on a trailer that uses electric or electric-over-hydraulic brakes. The trailer then pushes the vehicle instead of helping it slow down, so stopping takes much longer than normal. That extra stopping distance makes a crash more likely.

A small plug pressed into the engine may be out of line. If it slips, engine oil can pour out quickly. Losing oil that fast can make the engine shut down while you are driving, and oil that lands on hot engine or exhaust parts can start a fire. The dealer will check whether the plug is lined up correctly and put in a new one if it is not, at no charge to you.
The airbag warning label that belongs on the dashboard may be missing from your vehicle. That label explains how people should be seated and buckled in — for example, where children should ride — so the airbags and seat belts protect everyone properly in a crash. Without it, someone riding in the vehicle could sit in a way that increases their risk of injury. Ford will mail the warning labels to owners free of charge.
The seat belt for the driver or the front passenger has a device that tightens the belt in a crash. In these vehicles it can go off on its own for no reason. When that happens the belt locks up — it will not pull out and it will not pull back in. A locked belt may not hold you properly in a crash. Dealers will replace the seat belt retractor if needed and add a missing air conditioning drain tube elbow, free of charge.
On these Ford and Lincoln vehicles, the backup camera may show nothing on the screen when you shift into reverse. Some models also have a 360-degree camera view that can go blank. Without the picture, you cannot see what is behind you on the screen, so you could back into a person, another car, or an object. Dealers will replace the backup camera and update the software and wiring if needed, all free of charge.
The owner's manual for these Ford and Lincoln vehicles is missing instructions. It does not explain how to adjust or remove certain head restraints — the padded rests at the top of the seats. Federal rules require those instructions to be included. Without them, an owner may leave a head restraint in the wrong position, which could mean less protection for someone's head and neck in a crash. Ford is mailing a free printed addendum that covers the center seating positions. Nothing on the vehicle itself needs repair.

A gear inside the front axle may have skipped a hardening step at the factory, which leaves it weaker than it should be. That gear can snap. If it does, you lose four-wheel drive, and the front wheels may lock up, which could make you lose control. A dealer will replace the front axle gear set, or the whole axle if the part has already broken. The same recall also covers certain 2023 F-150 trucks.

The metal arms that hold your windshield wipers can break. If an arm snaps, that wiper stops moving and part of the glass no longer gets cleared. In rain, snow or road spray you could suddenly lose much of your view through the windshield. Ford dealers will replace both front wiper arms at no cost. Owners were warned by letter in May 2022, and letters went out again in October 2022 once repair parts were available.

A software problem in the built-in trailer brake controller means that a trailer hooked up behind your truck or SUV may not brake at all. Trailers with electric or electric-over-hydraulic brakes rely on this system to slow down with you. If it doesn't work, you're stopping the combined weight of the vehicle and the loaded trailer on your truck's brakes alone, so it takes much longer to stop. A dealer reloads the controller's software to fix it.

The side impact sensors inside the front doors may have been damaged when the supplier assembled them. These sensors are what tell the side airbags a crash is happening. If a sensor is damaged, the side airbags may not go off properly in a side crash, so you would not get the protection they are designed to provide. A dealer will replace the sensors in both front doors, driver side and passenger side, at no cost.

The bracket that holds the headrest on the driver's side second-row seat may not have been welded to the seat frame well enough. A weak weld means the headrest could be weaker than it should be. In a crash, it may not hold a passenger's head back the way it is supposed to, so someone sitting in that seat could get hurt more than they otherwise would. The seat does not meet the federal safety rule for head restraints. A dealer will look at the seat and replace it if needed.

These SUVs came with the camera-only Pre-Collision Assist system, which is meant to warn you and help brake if you are about to hit something ahead. Some computer modules were coded incorrectly at the factory, so the feature was never switched on, and the menu you would use to turn it on is not there. A dealer reloads the software in several modules and resets the tire pressure monitor. Vehicles with the radar-plus-camera version are not affected.

Each rear wheel is held in line by a small arm called a toe link. On these SUVs the bolts attaching that arm to the frame may not have been tightened enough, so the arm can come loose or separate. If it does, the back of the vehicle can suddenly wander or feel unstable while you are driving. Dealers will tighten the bolts, reset the rear alignment, and replace unevenly worn tires.

These trucks and SUVs use a 3.5-liter turbocharged V6 engine with a high-pressure fuel pump. Welds holding that pump assembly together can crack. If a weld breaks, fuel or oil can leak out of the pump. Leaking fuel near a hot surface or a spark can catch fire. This is a parts problem, not something regular maintenance fixes, so the dealer replaces the high-pressure fuel pump and the related parts that go with it, free of charge.

These vehicles have a 10-speed automatic transmission, and a small metal pin inside it may have been left out at the factory. Without that pin, the transmission may not actually hold the vehicle in Park, even though you moved the shifter to Park and the dashboard shows Park. If you get out without setting the parking brake, the vehicle can roll away on its own. A dealer will look inside the transmission and add the missing pin.

The controls for the second row power windows can stop working for a moment. Normally, if a window is closing and hits something like a finger or a hand, it is supposed to stop and go back down on its own. When the control quits, the window may not reverse, so it can keep pressing on whatever is caught.
