Rivian R1T and R1S front seat belt anchors loose

NHTSA campaign 22V641000 · Reported 2022-08-25 · Rivian Automotive, LLC

high How serious is it? About this label

You cannot tell by looking whether your belts are affected, and a loose anchor only shows up in a crash when it matters most, so keep wearing your belts and get the inspection done quickly.

What's wrong, in plain English

On some 2022 Rivian trucks and SUVs, the bolts holding the front seat belts to the post beside the front doors may not have been tightened properly at the factory. The seat belt may look and feel normal, but in a crash the anchor could pull loose and the belt would not hold you in place the way it should. Rivian will check both front seat belts and tighten the bolts if needed, at no cost.

What you should do

1. Look up your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to confirm your vehicle is included. 2. Contact Rivian to schedule the front seat belt inspection. 3. The inspection and any tightening are free; Rivian customer service is 1-888-748-4261, recall number FSAM-924.
