Chevrolet Bolt EV passenger airbag may not open properly

NHTSA campaign 23V567000 · Reported 2023-08-10 · General Motors, LLC

high How serious is it? About this label

This is serious because a passenger airbag that does not open properly leaves the front passenger more likely to be hurt in a crash, though GM has not told owners to stop driving.

What's wrong, in plain English

The dashboard has a line of small holes on its underside that lets the passenger airbag break through and open in a crash. On these vehicles those holes may be missing, so the passenger airbag may not open the way it should. Dealers will replace the entire dashboard at no cost to you.
