Genesis G80, GV70 and GV80 fuel pump may fail
high How serious is it? About this label
Losing engine power in traffic can lead to a crash, so this is a serious one; the notice does not tell owners to park the vehicle, but schedule the free repair soon.
What's wrong, in plain English
The fuel pump on these Genesis models can fail. The pump is what sends gasoline from the tank to the engine, so if it stops working the vehicle can lose drive power and you may not be able to keep up with traffic or get out of the way. A Genesis dealer will replace the fuel pump for free. Hyundai mailed owner letters in November 2023, so parts and the repair are available now. Call the dealer even if you never got a letter.
