Genesis GV70 can slip out of Park and roll
high How serious is it? About this label
Serious, since the vehicle can roll away on its own; the notice does not tell you to stop driving, but always set the parking brake when you park until it is repaired.
What's wrong, in plain English
Water can get into the wiring that controls the transmission on some 2024 Genesis GV70s. That can cause a short circuit and make the car slip out of Park into Neutral on its own, meaning it could roll away after you walk away from it. Hyundai tells owners to shut the engine off and set the emergency parking brake every time they park until the repair is done. A dealer will fix or replace the wiring.
