Genesis G80, G90, GV70, GV80 fuel line may leak critical

Reported 2026-04-10 · Campaign 26V229000 · Model years: 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025

Fuel can leak where the fuel pipe connects to the fuel rail, the part that feeds gasoline to the engine. A loose or faulty connection can let gasoline escape in the engine bay, where it can reach hot parts. You might smell gas or see drips under the front of the car. A dealer will check the connection and tighten it, or replace the pipe if needed, at no cost.

Genesis G80, GV80 and GV70 driver display can fail medium

Reported 2025-02-20 · Campaign 25V105000 · Model years: 2025

A software error can make the display right in front of the driver stop working. That is the screen showing your speed, along with the warning lights for things like the brakes, the engine and the airbags. If it goes blank, you cannot see how fast you are going or whether the car is trying to warn you about a problem. These vehicles do not meet federal rules for displays. Dealers inspect and update the software free.

Genesis GV70, GV80, G80, G90 fuel pump failure high

Reported 2024-04-19 · Campaign 24V282000 · Model years: 2022, 2023

The fuel pump is the part that sends gasoline from the tank to the engine. On these vehicles it can fail. If it does, the engine stops getting fuel and the vehicle loses power to drive — it can slow down or stop moving while you are out on the road. Your dealer will inspect the fuel pump and replace the assembly at no charge. This recall is an expansion of an earlier one, so some vehicles are being covered for the first time.

Genesis GV70 can slip out of Park and roll high

Reported 2024-03-15 · Campaign 24V205000 · Model years: 2024

Water can get into the wiring that controls the transmission on some 2024 Genesis GV70s. That can cause a short circuit and make the car slip out of Park into Neutral on its own, meaning it could roll away after you walk away from it. Hyundai tells owners to shut the engine off and set the emergency parking brake every time they park until the repair is done. A dealer will fix or replace the wiring.

Genesis G80, GV70 and GV80 fuel pump may fail high

Reported 2023-09-11 · Campaign 23V630000 · Model years: 2022

The fuel pump on these Genesis models can fail. The pump is what sends gasoline from the tank to the engine, so if it stops working the vehicle can lose drive power and you may not be able to keep up with traffic or get out of the way. A Genesis dealer will replace the fuel pump for free. Hyundai mailed owner letters in November 2023, so parts and the repair are available now. Call the dealer even if you never got a letter.

Genesis seat belt part may explode during a crash high

Reported 2023-02-16 · Campaign 23V094000 · Model years: 2022, 2023

Front seat belts have a small device that tightens the belt the instant a crash happens. In these vehicles that device can burst apart when it goes off, throwing metal pieces into the cabin that could hit and injure the driver or front passenger. The dealer will fit a cap over the part to hold it together, free of charge. GV60 owners got a warning letter first and will get a second letter when their repair is ready. Cars fixed under the earlier 2021 recall need this repair too.

Hyundai and Genesis seat belt pretensioners can explode in crash high

Reported 2021-10-13 · Campaign 21V796000 · Model years: 2022

On some 2021 Hyundai Elantra, Elantra Hybrid, Venue, Genesis GV80 and 2022 Genesis GV70 vehicles, the front seat belts have a device that tightens the belt in a crash. That device can blow apart when it goes off, throwing metal pieces inside the car and hurting the people in the front seats. Hyundai has since replaced this recall with newer ones, so even cars already fixed need the new repair.
