Rivian R1S and R1T low beams fail in cold
high How serious is it? About this label
Serious but not a park-it recall: driving is allowed, though headlights that don't come on in the cold sharply reduce what you can see and raise the chance of a crash, so check your low beams before every night or cold-weather drive until it's fixed.
What's wrong, in plain English
On certain Rivian R1S and R1T vehicles, the low-beam headlights may not turn on when you start the vehicle in cold weather. The part that controls the headlights can fail to switch them on, so you could be driving with no low beams. Rivian will replace the headlight control modules at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed on September 22, 2025. Rivian's number for this recall is FSAM-1612.
