Your Edge was already in for a camera recall once, but that earlier fix was not done correctly. A software problem can make the rearview camera show a blank or scrambled picture when you shift into reverse. That means the display you count on to see behind you may show nothing useful at the exact moment you need it. The camera hardware is fine; the software that runs it needs to be reloaded. A dealer can update it in one visit.

What you should do

1. Enter your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to confirm your Edge is included (Ford's recall number is 25S28).
2. Call your Ford dealer, or Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332, and book the software update.
3. Have the update done at no cost to you; until then, turn and look behind you before reversing.

Remedy
Dealers will update the rearview camera software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 25, 2025. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25S28.
