Lincoln Navigator side marker and daytime running lights may fail
medium How serious is it? About this label
A loss of exterior lighting can reduce visibility and increase the risk of a crash. The notice does not tell owners to stop driving.
What's wrong, in plain English
Your Navigator's headlights are run by a small computer, and its software has a fault. Because of it, the side marker lights and the daytime running lights can stop working. These are the lights that help other drivers see your vehicle, so the SUV does not meet the federal rules for lighting. This affects vehicles that already had an earlier lighting recall repair, so a previous fix does not mean you are covered. The dealer reloads corrected software.
What you should do
2. Call your Lincoln/Ford dealer, or Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332, and book the software update.
3. Have the headlight control module software updated — the repair is free, even if you already had the earlier recall done.
