What's wrong, in plain English

A small electrical part inside the brake pedal sensor on these Chrysler minivans may be cracked. That sensor tells the stability control system when you are braking, and a cracked part can shut the system down. Stability control is what quietly steps in to keep the van from sliding or spinning on a wet road or in a sudden swerve. Without it, the van is harder to keep under control. A dealer will inspect the sensor and replace it if needed.

How serious is it?

Your regular brakes still work, so the van is drivable, but losing stability control raises your crash risk in slippery or emergency situations — get it checked promptly.

Summary: Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2025-2026 Chrysler Voyager, Chrysler Pacifica, and 2026 Chrysler Voyager Plug-In Hybrid Electric (PHEV) vehicles. The brake pedal position sensor capacitor may be cracked, which can cause a loss of electronic stability control. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 126, "Electronic Stability Control Systems."
Safety risk: A loss of electronic stability control increases the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace brake pedal position sensor, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to mailed September 29, 2026. Owners may contact FCA customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA's number for this recall is 69D. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will become searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning September 9, 2026.
