Chrysler Pacifica wheelchair restraints may not lock properly

NHTSA campaign 26V296000 · Reported 2026-05-11 · Braun Corporation

high How serious is it? About this label

A wheelchair that comes loose while the van is moving can injure the person riding in it; the notice does not restrict driving, but do not count on the restraints to hold a wheelchair until they have been inspected.

What's wrong, in plain English

These are Pacifica vans converted by Braun to carry a passenger in a wheelchair. The retractors — the devices that strap the wheelchair down to the floor — may fail to lock. When they do not lock, the wheelchair is not really held in place and can roll or shift while the van is moving. Braun and Q'Straint will inspect the retractors and replace any bad ones, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed in June 2026.

What you should do

1. Look up your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to confirm your van is included.
2. Call Braun customer service at 1-800-488-0359 or Q'Straint at 1-800-987-9987 to arrange the inspection.
3. Have the retractors inspected and replaced as needed — there is no cost to you.
