Buying a used 2025 RAM Promaster? Check these 4 recalls first
Four recalls carry over into this year: the critical radiator fan wiring fire risk, loss of drive power on electric ProMaster vans, a wheelchair restraint issue specific to Rollx conversions, and a backup camera image that may not display. Only six owner complaints are on file, touching engine, steering, electrical and service brakes, with no crashes, fires or injuries reported. Complaints are unverified, and on a van this new the record is too thin to read a pattern from.
Before you buy
- Get the 17-character VIN from the seller and run it at nhtsa.gov/recalls. It shows which recalls are still unrepaired on that exact car.
- Confirm the powertrain, and for electric vans that the drive power loss recall was performed
- Have the VIN run for open recalls, since a recent van may still have unrepaired ones
- Test the backup camera from a cold start and check brake feel on the drive
- Open recalls are repaired free at any RAM dealer, whoever owns the car — an open recall is a to-do item, not a bill.
