25 recalls covering model years 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025. To check whether your vehicle is affected, look up your 17-character VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls — a recall may apply only to some vehicles of a given year.
These are vans converted by Rollx for wheelchair use. The straps that hold a wheelchair use retractors, which work like a seat belt: they pull in slack and then lock so the chair cannot roll. On these vans, the QRT-Deluxe and QRT-Max retractors may fail to lock. If they do not lock, the wheelchair and the person in it can shift or slide while the van is moving, which raises the risk of injury. Rollx and the restraint maker will check the retractors and replace them if needed.
The wiring that powers the radiator cooling fan can get too hot. That overheating can damage the circuit and start a fire under the hood, even while you are just driving normally. The free fix replaces the cooling fan module and its fuse, and the dealer adds a label for the fuse box plus an insert for your owner's manual. Chrysler has been mailing letters in groups, with the last ones expected in July 2026.

This covers the battery electric versions of the ProMaster van. The software that controls the electric drive unit may not manage power to the wheels properly, and the van can lose drive power. If that happens while you are pulling into traffic, climbing a hill or merging onto a highway, the van may slow or stop moving when you expect it to go. Dealers will reload the software in several control computers and, if needed, replace the electric drive unit.
A tiny computer chip inside the backup camera can crack. When it does, the picture behind the vehicle may not show up properly on the screen as you reverse, so you could miss a person or object behind you. Chrysler will replace the camera at no cost, but the parts are not ready yet. The letter mailed September 30, 2025 is only a warning; a second letter with the actual fix is expected around July 2026.
A software error in one of the van's control modules can stop the backup camera picture from appearing on the screen when you shift into reverse. Without that view you cannot see a child, a person, or an object right behind the van, and a large cargo van is already hard to see out of from the driver's seat. This also fails a federal rear visibility rule. Dealers will fix it with a free software update, and owner letters were mailed in June 2025.

The radio software in these vehicles can keep the backup camera picture from appearing at all. When you shift into reverse, the screen may not show what is behind you, so you cannot see a child, a person, or an object in the vehicle's path while backing up. That makes it much easier to hit something you never saw. The repair is a software update for the radio, done at the dealer or sent to the vehicle wirelessly.
These vans were built without a steel beam inside one of the side doors. That beam is what helps protect people inside if another vehicle hits the van from the side. The sticker on the door frame also lists the wrong number of seats, so the van could end up loaded with more people than it should carry. Dealers will install the missing door beam and put a corrected label over the old one, free.

Some 2021 Ram ProMaster vans left the factory with a loose electrical ground connection. That loose connection can shut off the electronic stability control, the system that senses when the van is starting to skid or slide in a turn and quietly brakes individual wheels to keep it pointed where you are steering. Without it, the van handles like an older vehicle with no such help, and it is easier to lose control on a slippery or sudden maneuver. Chrysler says all affected vans have been repaired.

A wiring connection in these vans can be poor, and when it is, the left taillight and the left turn signal stop working. Other drivers then cannot see that you are turning left, and at night or in bad weather your van is harder to see from behind. Both make a crash more likely, especially in traffic. A dealer will inspect the wiring harness and replace it if needed, free. You may not notice a rear light is out from the driver's seat.

On certain Ram ProMaster vans, the light and chime that remind the driver to buckle up may not come on. The part inside the driver's seat belt buckle that tells the van whether the belt is fastened can fail, so you get no reminder at all. Because of this, the van does not meet the federal rule for protecting people in a crash. A dealer will check the buckle and replace it if needed, at no cost.
Debris inside the transmission can stop the parking latch from fully locking when you put the van in Park. If it is only partly engaged, the van can roll away after you walk away from it. This affects certain Ram ProMaster vans with the 62TE transmission. A dealer will update the transmission software and inspect the transmission, replacing it or parts inside it if needed, at no cost to you. Owner letters were mailed in June 2023.

Some 2022 Ram ProMaster chassis cab and incomplete vehicles were built with the wrong kind of backup camera. It is an analog camera, and it cannot actually be installed on these trucks, so the driver has no working rear view on the screen. Federal rules require a working backup camera, and these vehicles do not meet that rule. Without one, it is harder to see people or objects behind you when you back up. The dealer will supply a digital camera free.

Seat belts have a locking mode you use to hold a child safety seat tightly in place. In these vans, that locking feature may switch off too early, so the belt does not stay locked and the child seat may not be held securely. Because of this, the vehicles do not meet the federal rule on protecting people in a crash. A dealer will inspect the seat belt retractors, the parts that wind the belt up, and replace them if needed.

On certain 2014-2019 Prime-Time paratransit vehicles with 3.6L engines, the cable that connects the gear shifter to the transmission can come apart. When that happens, the transmission does not go into the gear you selected, and the shift lever can show one gear while the vehicle is actually in another. You might think you are in park when you are not, and the vehicle could move when you do not expect it to.

Some 2020 Ram ProMaster vans and Ram 1500 pickups have a side curtain airbag — the one that drops down along the windows to protect your head — that was put together wrong. A part inside that channels the gas into the bag was not crimped properly, so it can come loose when the airbag goes off. If that happens in a crash, the airbag may not fill the way it should and may not protect you. Dealers will replace the airbags free.

These vans were fitted with Freedman fold-away seats by an outside company. A part inside the front seat belt retractor — the piece that lets the belt reel in and out — was not set up correctly. Because of that, the belt may not lock and hold a person snugly against the seat. The vans do not meet the federal safety rule for seat belts. A dealer will put in new retractors at no cost.

These converted Ford Transit and Ram ProMaster vans have folding passenger seats whose seat belts may not work properly. Inside each belt is a spool that lets the belt pull out and then locks it in place. On these seats, that locking setup may not have been adjusted correctly when it was built. Because of that, the belt may not hold a person firmly against the seat. Anyone riding in an affected seat may not be properly restrained in a crash.

The cable that connects your gear shifter to the transmission can come apart. When that happens, moving the shift lever no longer changes gears, and the letter shown on the dash may not match the gear the van is actually in. You could think it is in Park when it is not, and the van could roll away or move when you don't expect it. A dealer will install a new shift cable.

The fan that cools the engine can seize up and stop turning. When that happens the fan's motor keeps trying to run, gets very hot, and can catch fire. This affects vans with the 3.0-liter diesel or 3.6-liter gas engine and air conditioning. Chrysler mailed an early warning letter in December 2019 and the actual repair became available in July 2020. Dealers replace the whole engine cooling fan unit for free.

These work vans and trucks have an add-on backup camera screen that can reset itself to factory settings. When that happens, the picture flips left to right, like a mirror image. Something that appears on the right side of the screen is really on your left. Backing up, you could steer the wrong way to avoid a person or object behind you. The company that installed the screens will notify owners and provide a free fix.

When the seat cushion is swung back down into the upright seating position, it may not lock securely. The computer that runs the engine has a small part inside, a voltage regulator chip, that can fail. When it does, the engine can shut off while you are driving, or the vehicle may not start at all. A stall in traffic leaves you without engine power and can put you in the path of other vehicles. Dealers will replace the whole engine computer at no charge.

The wrong rivet was used to attach the crash sensor inside each front door of these Ram ProMaster vans. Because of that, the sensor's housing can crack. That sensor is what tells the side airbags to inflate, so if it is broken the side airbags may not go off properly in a side-impact crash, leaving people less protected. The dealer will replace both front door sensors and attach them with the correct rivets.
