These vehicles came with an emergency jack, the small tool you use to lift the vehicle when you change a flat tire. If the jack is not placed exactly where the owner's manual says it should go, it can crack and break while the vehicle is raised on it. The vehicle can then drop, which could injure anyone underneath or beside it. GM is replacing the jack for free, but parts were not ready when the first letters went out.
These vehicles use an electric system that helps boost your braking, so the pedal feels easy to press. Dirt or moisture on a sensor connection can cut off the signal between the sensor and that booster. If that happens, the power assist goes away and the brake pedal gets very hard to push. The car will still stop, but you have to push much harder and it takes longer. GM dealers replace the brake booster module at no cost.
The bolts that hold the back of a front seat down to the floor may have been left out at the factory, on one or both front seats. A seat that is not fully bolted down can shift or move during a crash, so whoever is sitting in it is more likely to be hurt. A dealer will check the attachments on both front seats and install any bolts that are missing.
The information label on certain 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazers built with the optional 17-inch sport terrain tires is incomplete. It does not list the tire size or the correct cold tire pressure for the front and rear tires, which federal rules require it to show. Without that information, an owner could put too much or too little air in the tires. GM is mailing corrected labels that owners stick on themselves, at no cost.
