Chrysler Pacifica right front control arm can separate

NHTSA campaign 19V143000 · Reported 2019-02-28 · Chrysler (FCA US LLC)

high How serious is it? About this label

A front suspension part coming apart while driving can cause a crash, so this should be repaired quickly; the notice does not tell owners to stop driving in the meantime.

What's wrong, in plain English

On certain 2018 Chrysler Pacifica and Pacifica Hybrid minivans, the lower control arm on the right front wheel can come apart from the steering knuckle — the piece it bolts to at the wheel. If that connection separates, you could crash. Dealers inspect the right front knuckle and control arm for damage, replace anything that is damaged, and fit a thicker pinch bolt to hold the joint together. The work is free.

What you should do

1. Enter your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to see if your minivan is affected. 2. Call Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403 (recall V15) or your dealer to book the inspection. 3. Have the dealer check the right front knuckle and control arm, replace damaged parts, and install the larger pinch bolt — free of charge.
