A fuel leak can lead to a fire, which makes this serious; Honda has not told owners to park the vehicle, but get it to a dealer quickly, especially if you smell gasoline.

What's wrong, in plain English

The weld joining the gas tank to the vapor return line may not have been done well enough at the factory, and that weld can fail. If it does, gasoline can leak out of the tank. Leaking fuel near a hot exhaust, a spark, or any other ignition source can start a fire. Honda dealers will replace the entire fuel tank at no charge. This recall started in September 2019, so the free repair is already available.

Summary: Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2019 CR-V vehicles. The joint weld between the fuel tank and the vapor return line may have been insufficiently welded, causing the weld to fail.
Safety risk: The failed weld may allow fuel to leak, increasing the risk of a fire in the presence of an ignition source.
Remedy: Honda will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel tank, free of charge. The recall began September 16, 2019. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's number for this recall is A5I.
