Certain 2019 Audi Q7 SUVs have a problem with the side curtain airbags — the airbags that drop down from above the side windows to protect people's heads in a crash. In a crash, these airbags may not fill with air the way they are supposed to. That means the protection you expect in a side impact or rollover may not be there. Audi dealers will replace the side curtain airbags on affected vehicles.

Summary: Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Volkswagen) is recalling certain 2019 Audi Q7 vehicles. In the event of a crash, the side curtain air bags may not properly inflate.
Safety risk: An air bag that does not properly inflate in the event of a crash can increase the risk of injury.
Remedy: Volkswagen will notify owners, and dealers will replace the side curtain air bags, free of charge. The recall began March 19, 2020. Owners may contact Volkswagen customer service at 1-800-893-5298. Volkswagen's number for this recall is 69AJ.
