Serious, since the glass can come off while the car is moving; Nissan does not tell owners to stop driving, but get the window replaced as soon as your dealer can take the car.

What's wrong, in plain English

On certain 2020 Nissan Altima, Maxima and Leaf cars, the rear window glass may not stay securely attached to the body. It can come loose and separate from the car, including while you are driving. Glass that lets go can create a hazard for you and for the drivers behind you, and Nissan says that raises the chance of a crash. Nissan dealers will replace the back window glass at no cost to you.

What you should do

1. Enter your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to confirm your car is included in recall PC752.
2. Call your Nissan dealer, or Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669, and book the rear window replacement.
3. Have the work done — the new glass and the labor are free.

Summary: Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2020 Altima, Maxima and Leaf vehicles. The rear window glass may not remain properly secured to the vehicle.
Safety risk: Rear window glass that separates from the vehicle can increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will replace the back window glass, free of charge. The recall began November 4, 2020. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Nissan's number for this recall is PC752.
