This is serious — a wheel coming off can cause a crash, so if you feel any wheel vibration or shaking, stop driving and have the vehicle towed to a dealer.

What's wrong, in plain English

Some 2021 Nissan Rogue SUVs left the factory with the wrong wheel nuts holding the wheels on. The wrong nuts can work themselves loose over time. When that happens you may feel the wheel shaking or vibrating as you drive. If it keeps going, the bolts that hold the wheel can snap and the wheel can come off the vehicle while you are driving. A dealer will check all the wheel nuts and swap out any incorrect ones at no cost to you.

What you should do

1. Enter your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to confirm your Rogue is included. 2. Call your Nissan dealer or Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669 (recall PC799) and book an inspection. 3. Have the dealer inspect and replace any wrong wheel nuts — the repair is free.

Summary: Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2021 Nissan Rogue vehicles. The incorrect wheel nuts may have been installed, and may loosen causing wheel vibration.
Safety risk: The wheel vibration may break the wheel studs and cause the wheel assembly to separate from the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the wheel nuts and replace any incorrect ones, free of charge. The recall began May 4, 2021. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Nissan's number for this recall is PC799.
