What's wrong, in plain English

These Rogue SUVs have the 3-cylinder 1.5-liter turbo engine. Inside the engine there is a part called the throttle body, which controls how much air the engine gets when you press the gas pedal. Small gears inside it can break. If they do, the engine may stop responding and the vehicle can lose power while you are driving. Your dealer updates the engine computer's software and checks the throttle body, replacing it if needed, at no cost.

What you should do

1. Enter your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to confirm your Rogue is included (VINs are listed as of February 27, 2026).
2. Call your Nissan dealer or Nissan customer service at 800-647-7261 and ask for recall R25E2, R25E3 or R25A9.
3. Have the software update and throttle body inspection done — the repair is free.

Summary
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Rogue vehicles equipped with 3-cylinder 1.5L variable compression turbo (VC-Turbo) engines. The gears in the electronic throttle body assembly may break.
Safety risk
Broken throttle body gears can cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Dealers will reprogram the engine control module (ECM) software and inspect and replace the electronic throttle body assembly as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 8, 2026. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 800-647-7261. Nissan's numbers for this recall are R25E2, R25E3 and R25A9. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning February 27, 2026.
